MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT - JULY 2014
Hello Central Ohio SCI Members,
I’d first like to personally thank all of you who made our 24th annual banquet another huge success. It was one of the best ever. Your generosity was, once again, so very apparent when it came to bidding on our auction and raffle items.
We received so many favorable comments during and after this year’s banquet and certainly couldn’t have done it without your support and the great efforts of all who worked on the banquet committee.
Simply stated,,, all of your participation, focus and dedication to the principles set forth by SCI have made this Central Ohio Chapter one of the finest in the Midwest.
So, thanks again for making this happen. And, please mark your calendars for our next banquet; Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Hilton@Polaris. More info to follow.
I’d also like to advise you of a recent administrative change with our Board of Directors. Our long time Director of Communications, Jim Priday, regretfully advised the Board of his need to resign from his present position, due to an ongoing health problem. Jim has done a tremendous job editing our Newsletters, the banquet programs and monitoring our website. We’ll certainly miss his attention to detail, creative flair and dedication to all tasks at hand.
When Jim advised the board of his impending departure, we knew we’d have a challenge finding his replacement. Interestingly, my nephew, Joe Wehinger, expressed a heartfelt desire to assume those responsibilities and Jim has graciously offered to assist Joe in the transition.
A little background: Joe is a 2013 Miami University (Ohio) graduate and is employed as an account manager at Environmental Management. He’s hunted extensively in the U.S., Australia and Africa and it’s given me great pleasure to follow his growth and development as a sportsman and an involved conservation advocate. Needless to say, the Board is very pleased with Joe’s request to fill this position and he has our total support.
Joe’s presently working on our next SCI Chapter newsletter and would very much appreciate any and all
hunting and fishing reports.
So that’s the latest from Chapter headquarters. I hope you have a most enjoyable summer and a safe and productive fall hunting season.
All the best,,, and remember,,, Life is short,,, let’s go hunting,
